美元创三周最大跌幅,美国财政部出手缓解长债抛售压力

2026-08-19 15:25

The US dollar fell sharply on Wednesday, posting its biggest decline in three weeks, as a rebound in the Treasury market—triggered by the Treasury Department's unexpected move to expand long-dated bond buybacks—pushed long-term yields significantly lower. The dollar index dropped as much as 0.85% during the session, marking its steepest slide in three weeks and touching its lowest level since mid-May.

The dollar weakened against all major currencies on the day, with the Swiss franc and Swedish krona leading gains, while the yen also strengthened notably. Market participants attributed the move to the Treasury's sudden increase in long-dated bond repurchases, which helped alleviate the persistent selling pressure in the long-end Treasury market, while signaling to investors that the Treasury is closely monitoring bond market volatility.
