Iran reiterates its "sovereign rights" over the Strait of Hormuz
Odaily News: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei stated that existing laws already cover Iran's "sovereign rights" in the Arabian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman. Baghaei said the Iranian Foreign Ministry will continue to cooperate with parliament to advance legislation related to Iran's rights in the region.
He stated: "The Foreign Ministry has always taken current laws and practical realities into consideration. Parliament's position is clear and explicit in the constitution, and the Foreign Ministry considers it its duty to cooperate with parliament as necessary in all legislative processes." He said that the Iranian Foreign Ministry has previously provided professional opinions on relevant bills, and if parliamentarians request, the Foreign Ministry will provide opinions again.
