SFC: Hong Kong's total assets under management rose 20% year-on-year to a record high of HK$42.2 trillion
Odaily Odaily reports that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) today published the "2025 Asset and Wealth Management Activities Survey," showing that Hong Kong, as a leading global asset and wealth management hub, performed excellently in 2025, with total assets under management rising 20% year-on-year to a historic high of HK$42.2 trillion (US$5.4 trillion).
This record-breaking AUM surpassed the previous high of HK$35.5 trillion (US$4.6 trillion) set in 2021. Part of this growth was fueled by net capital inflows, which surged 193% year-on-year to HK$2.1 trillion (US$265 billion), marking the third consecutive year of increase. Across major sectors, AUM for asset management and fund advisory business rose 19% year-on-year to HK$31 trillion (US$4 trillion), while AUM for private banking and private wealth management business saw a more significant increase of 24% year-on-year to HK$12.9 trillion (US$1.7 trillion).
