Polymarket accused of marketing to US users through simulated trading and fake profit videos

2026-06-21 02:07

Odaily Planet Daily News: Prediction market platform Polymarket has been accused of promoting its products on social media by paying creators to publish simulated trading and fake profit videos.

According to reports, the creators involved used simulation sites that closely resemble the real Polymarket website to produce trading videos. Some of the content showcased high profits that were not actually realized, and some videos were required to be submitted for Polymarket's review. Polymarket managed its influencer promotional campaigns through the marketing company Virality. Despite its services being restricted for US users, these marketing activities are still believed to be targeting American users.

Additionally, The Wall Street Journal reported that Polymarket has a multi-million dollar promotional partnership with influencer Adin Ross to encourage users to participate in platform activities. Polymarket has not yet publicly responded to this matter. (The Wall Street Journal)
