CryptoQuant: Transactions under 0.01 BTC account for 80% of the total, hitting a multi-year high

Odaily Planet Daily reported that Julio Moreno, Head of Research at CryptoQuant, stated that transactions under 0.01 BTC currently account for approximately 80% of Bitcoin's daily total transaction volume, significantly higher than the roughly 44% seen in 2023.

Moreno pointed out that this growth is primarily driven by on-chain data protocols based on OP_RETURN, such as Runes, Ordinals, BRC-20, and data timestamping services. These protocols generate a large number of small-value transactions, some as low as 546 satoshis (approximately $0.35), thereby continuously increasing the number of low-value transfers.

Additionally, the Bitcoin network activity index has been steadily rising since January this year, currently reaching its highest level since the end of 2024. (The Block)
