Greeks.live: 25,000 BTC Options and 274,000 ETH Options Expiring This Friday

Odaily Planet Daily News: Adam, a macro researcher at Greeks.live, posted on platform X that on May 15th, a total of 25,000 BTC options will expire, with a Put Call Ratio of 0.59, a max pain point of $80,000, and a notional value of $2 billion; 274,000 ETH options will expire, with a Put Call Ratio of 0.4, a max pain point of $2,300, and a notional value of $620 million.

Bitcoin has been consolidating around the $80,000 level this week. Only 6% of BTC options and 11% of ETH options are expiring this week. Both major tenor options and short-term RV have slightly decreased compared to last week, while VRP has increased. Bitcoin's major tenor IV is around 35%, and ETH's major tenor IV is around 50%. Skew has slightly declined across the board, with little fluctuation over the past month. Market directional sentiment remains neutral. Option activity has been very low this week, with approximately 20% open interest at the end of May and about 30% at the end of June.
