Singapore police and crypto platforms join forces to intercept over S$2.86 million in scam funds in one month

According to Odaily, to combat cryptocurrency-related scams, the Anti-Scam Command and Cybercrime Investigation Department of the Singapore Police Force have collaborated with cryptocurrency platforms in an enforcement operation, successfully intercepting over S$2.86 million in scam proceeds.

The Singapore Police Force stated in a press release on Thursday (April 23) that the relevant authorities cooperated with cryptocurrency platforms such as Coinbase, Coinhako, StraitsX, and Upbit in a month-long enforcement operation from March 16 to April 15 this year.

During the operation, authorities utilized tools from blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs and blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, employing advanced blockchain analysis techniques to identify victims of scams. These scam types included impersonation scams involving government officials, investment scams, job scams, and online romance scams. (Lianhe Zaobao)
