Republican leaders urge Lutnick to halt crypto PAC's political spending in Texas
Odaily Odaily reported that senior Republican officials recently called U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, urging him to intervene in the spending plans of the crypto-focused political action committee Fellowship PAC, which is backed by his former company Cantor Fitzgerald, in the state of Texas.
The PAC had previously disclosed in an FEC filing that it intended to spend $1.75 million to support Ken Paxton, sparking concerns within the party about its involvement in a sensitive primary race. According to sources, the PAC ultimately did not run the related advertisements, and Republican officials subsequently stated that the concerns had been alleviated. Fellowship PAC, which is linked to Tether, previously stated it planned to raise $100 million for the 2026 elections and has so far raised approximately $11 million. (Axios)
