Spanish police dismantle pirated manga website, seize crypto cold wallets containing €400,000

According to Odaily, local police in Spain have seized two cryptocurrency cold wallets containing approximately €400,000 (around $467,000) during an operation against an illegal manga distribution platform. The operation was conducted by police in Almería, Spain, resulting in the arrest of three suspects and the dismantling of a site considered the largest Spanish-language pirated manga platform in the country. The platform had been offering free pirated content since 2014, primarily generating revenue through advertisements, with total earnings exceeding €4 million over the past decade. Notably, the cold wallets involved were hidden inside a wall thermometer. Authorities have not yet disclosed whether they have obtained the relevant private keys or access to the funds.
