随着全球芯片抛售加剧,美国科技股或将下滑

2026-07-28 07:37

Odaily Planet Daily News: US tech stocks are expected to fall as a global sell-off in semiconductor stocks intensifies and concerns over artificial intelligence investments rise due to increased competition from Chinese manufacturers. During Asian trading hours, South Korea's KOSPI index plunged 11%, with shares in memory chip giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix both falling over 13%. Japan's Nikkei 225, which has a high weighting in chip stocks, and the Taiwan Weighted Index both declined around 4%.

Vincent Juvyns, Chief Investment Strategist at ING, stated: "It is completely reasonable for investors to reduce their holdings in semiconductor stocks; now is a good time to take profits and diversify asset allocation." However, given that the industry's profit outlook remains bright for the coming years, Juvyns still advises clients to "maintain their investment positions." He said: "I view this sell-off as a normal correction phase within a long-term growth cycle." Meanwhile, investor positioning risks are also rising. Data from Citigroup shows that long positions in the Nasdaq 100 are currently still in loss territory, increasing the risk of further market corrections. (Jin Shi)
