EPIK Creator Responds to Controversy: Over 50% of Tokens Bought Back in 3 Years, Plans Airdrop for Long-Term Supporters
Odaily Planet Daily News: In response to community criticism that "holding 50% of the tokens is meaningless," EPIK creator Mando stated that he has spent three years supporting the project and has used personal funds to buy back over 50% of the tokens, rather than acquiring a large number through airdrops.
Mando mentioned that he jokingly created EPIK during a livestream, then invested a seven-figure sum to support the token long-term, adding that this is completely different from how some KOLs, creators, and celebrities have sold off tokens they received over the past three years.
He revealed that he did not buy back tokens on the day of the statement, but has accumulated buybacks of over 50% of the total token supply over the past three years. He is currently considering airdropping some tokens in batches to community members and relevant users who have provided long-term support.
