Stock markets in Japan and South Korea closed higher, with South Korea's KOSPI index rising nearly 1%

Odaily Odaily reports, according to data from MSX.COM, the Nikkei 225 index closed up 320.04 points, or 0.50%, at 64,931.19 points on July 27. South Korea's KOSPI index closed up 65.12 points, or 0.97%, at 6,755.74 points on July 27. SK Hynix rose 3.5%, and Samsung Electronics rose 2%.
