Analyst: If Tensions Persist, Brent Crude Could Rise to $100 per Barrel

2026-07-23 03:49

Odaily Star Daily News, Phillip Nova analyst Priyanka Sachdeva noted in a report that if tensions continue to escalate, Brent crude oil prices could target $100 per barrel. She stated that while the market currently faces primarily logistical risks rather than direct oil losses, this distinction might quickly diminish if attacks persist.

Sachdeva pointed out that the greatest risk for the energy market would be a prolonged disruption of traffic through both the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Strait of Hormuz simultaneously. She added that under such circumstances, the market would have very limited flexibility in rerouting cargo shipments, and shipping disruptions could rapidly evolve into a broader inflation issue.
