Analyst: NAND Flash Supply Shortage May Ease by 2027

2026-07-21 08:04

Odaily Odaily News: Citrini analyst jukan posted on platform X stating that TrendForce predicts the NAND flash memory supply shortage will ease in 2027. TrendForce points out that servers now account for over 40% of total NAND flash bit demand, while smartphones and laptops together still account for nearly 40%, thus continuing to have a significant impact on overall demand. Regarding inventory, storage manufacturers' inventory levels remain relatively low. Although module factory inventories have increased due to weak consumer market conditions, inventories held by other buyers remain at controllable levels.

Combining these factors, TrendForce expects the NAND flash bit supply-demand gap will remain between negative 4% and negative 5% in 2026, indicating the shortage will persist; however, the gap is expected to turn positive in the second half of 2027, alleviating supply tightness pressures.
