Traditional exchanges are facing competition from crypto markets and tokenized stock platforms.
The overnight trading venue will operate independently from the main market, with trading hours from 17:00 to 7:50 London time. It will initially offer exchange-traded products, including those tracking the UK or US stock markets.
The main market of the London Stock Exchange will continue to operate during standard hours, with trading from 8:00 to 16:30. LSE CEO Julia Hoggett stated that retail demand for accessing UK assets and global asset exposure during the London time zone is increasing.
