四周内3亿韩元资产归零,韩国疯狂的股市交易暴露了保证金贷款风险
Odaily Planet Daily News: According to foreign media reports, 24-year-old South Korean university student Lee Seung-ho turned 20 million won into a 15-fold return of 300 million won (approximately $202,500) using 5x leverage, but the gains evaporated in just four weeks. The pressure was so intense that he confessed, "I can barely breathe." For many young South Koreans, the allure of leverage stems from a harsher reality beyond the trading screen.
Data shows that an average South Korean worker would need 14 years of their full salary to buy a home in Seoul, making it difficult for young graduates to accumulate wealth through traditional means. As a result, highly leveraged stock trading apps have become their only tool for economic equality. Last Thursday, the South Korean government announced a ban on newly launched leveraged exchange-traded funds linked to individual stocks. For retail investors holding these products, the risk is asymmetric: in such a volatile market environment, leverage causes losses to accumulate much faster during downturns than gains during upturns. Lee Seung-ho said he understood these risks but still believed leverage was the best way forward. (Jin Shi)
