Blockworks: There are currently about 250 active liquid funds in the industry

Odaily reported that renowned trader Ansem asked data service providers such as Blockworks on X: "Has anyone tracked how many liquid funds actually exist in the crypto space, and what their AUM is?"
Blockworks co-founder Jason Yanowitz responded: "My guess is there are around 800 globally. I have 470 on my list (there were 1,500 at the beginning of 2022), but there might be another 40%-50% of funds that haven't disclosed their information. Currently, about 250 are active, but most of them are very small in terms of AUM, like a small fund run by two founders with maybe only $10 million in assets under management... The majority of AUM is actually concentrated in a handful of funds."
