Zcash launches Zakura Node, aiming to support 50,000 transactions per second

Odaily reported that Zcash has launched a new full node called Zakura, maintained by a team independent of the Zcash Foundation. It is released as a trimmed-down, fast-sync branch of Zebra and is compatible with the legacy zcashd client, which will reach its end of life on July 18.
Zakura is a key component of Zcash's scaling efforts, working in conjunction with Project Tachyon and private information retrieval research. The goal is to increase network throughput to the level of Visa and Mastercard by reducing verification data and eliminating wallet performance bottlenecks.
Zakura also supports the Ironwood (NU6.3) upgrade, which will be activated on July 28. This upgrade introduces a turnstile mechanism to restrict withdrawals from the Orchard shielded pool and control the creation of counterfeit ZEC that could be generated by long-standing soundness bugs.
