Odaily Planet Daily News Bank of America released a report stating that due to old plant closures caused by technological upgrades, South Korea's average annual wafer production capacity growth will be less than 10%, far short of the official goal of doubling by 2030. SK Hynix's new memory production capacity by 2028 may be only one-sixth of the original plan.
