日元突然跳涨,市场猜测日本策略转向“突袭式”
Odaily Planet Daily News On Thursday, the yen surged against the US dollar, with traders on high alert over the possibility that Japanese authorities may have intervened to support the currency. It remains unclear what triggered this market volatility or whether Japanese authorities actually stepped into the market. The magnitude of this fluctuation appears smaller than those following previous rounds of intervention.
Hirofumi Suzuki, chief foreign exchange strategist at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, said: "It is still unclear whether this is intervention. However, as reports suggest, authorities may have shifted their intervention strategy and tactics, potentially no longer signaling intervention in advance. This could make it more difficult for the yen to weaken further." (Jin Shi)
