Odaily Federal Reserve Chairman Walsh said on Wednesday that inflation expectations and inflation risks have both declined in recent weeks; he also reiterated that the Fed is committed to bringing inflation down to its 2% target.
"In the early weeks of this period, inflation expectations have retreated, and inflation risks have diminished accordingly," Walsh said. "If households, the business community, or financial markets believe the Fed would be comfortable with inflation above 2% — then they are likely to be disappointed: we will ensure the United States achieves price stability."
