Japan and South Korea stock markets opened higher, with the Nikkei 225 index rising over 1% and the KOSPI index gaining 0.77%

According to Odaily, data from Gate shows that Japan's Nikkei 225 index opened up 734.46 points, or 1.06%, at 70,202.57 points on June 30; South Korea's KOSPI index opened up 64.56 points, or 0.77%, at 8,459.21 points.

In terms of individual stocks, Samsung Electronics rose 2%, and SK Hynix rose 1%.
