Base experienced a second mainnet outage in two days, now restored
Odaily reported that Base experienced an abnormal block production on its mainnet for the second time in two days. According to the official status page, the incident occurred at 15:33 UTC. The team subsequently confirmed the issue and resumed block production by 16:11.
Base stated that node operators need to restart their Base mainnet nodes to complete re-synchronization.
This incident shows similar symptoms to the outage from the previous day. On Thursday, an anomalous block caused the Sequencer to be unable to build new blocks, resulting in a network halt lasting about two hours. Although user funds were not affected, withdrawal services were temporarily interrupted.
Officials stated that this failure also manifested as a chain halt, sharing similar characteristics with the previous day's incident. The network has now resumed operations.
