Odaily reported that Russia's Ministry of Energy has drafted a government resolution proposing a ban on cryptocurrency mining in Moscow, the Moscow region, and parts of Kursk Oblast from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2032. According to the document, the ban covers multiple municipal districts and towns in Kursk Oblast. Previously, the Russian government had decided to impose long-term mining bans starting in 2025 in various parts of the North Caucasus, the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Kherson Oblast, and has upgraded seasonal power restrictions in the Republic of Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory to long-term limitations.
