U.S. annual net capital inflows reached $884 billion, a record high

Odaily reported that The Kobeissi Letter posted on platform X, stating that in the 12 months ending April 2026, U.S. net capital inflows hit a record $884 billion. This metric reflects the scale of external funds entering the U.S. financial market through the purchase of U.S. assets by private investors and official institutions.

Net capital inflows have nearly tripled since the beginning of 2025. The previous peak in 2021 was approximately $400 billion, less than half of the current level. In April, total private sector purchases of U.S. stocks rose to $763 billion, a record high; official institution purchases rose to $121 billion, more than doubling since the start of the year.
