美国参议院争取7月推进加密法案,但住房法案等议程或挤压时间窗口

2026-06-25 22:43

Odaily Planet Daily News: The U.S. Senate is attempting to advance the crypto market structure bill, the "Clarity Act," in July. However, the legislative window is tightening due to a crowded agenda, including the National Defense Authorization Act, the renewal of the Farm Bill, and a major housing bill.

The Senate's schedule in the coming weeks is packed. In addition to the annual defense and farm bills, President Trump stated on Wednesday that he would not support a major housing bill unless Congress first passes a bill requiring proof of citizenship for federal election voters. This housing bill also includes provisions to ban central bank digital currencies.

Since lawmakers will leave Washington before the August recess, if the relevant bills are not advanced by then, the political focus after their return will shift to the November elections. This will further reduce the floor time available for crypto legislation.

Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis said she expects to release a new version of the bill text around July 4th for final review by lawmakers, with a push for a vote in July. A Senate aide also stated that the "Clarity Act" will be one of the bipartisan priorities when the Senate returns in July.

However, the bill still faces multiple uncertainties, including the level of Democratic support, controversies over Trump's conflicting crypto interests, the priority of other major legislation, and the Senate's limited agenda.
