Iranian Parliament Speaker: Iran-US Memorandum of Understanding Indicates 'American Defeat'

According to Odaily, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated on the 24th that the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States signifies an American defeat, attributing the agreement to the result of Iranian resistance. He made these remarks during his opening speech at the 20th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

He pointed out that the aggressors had believed they could force the Iranian people to retreat and alter the regional situation through military pressure, blockades, psychological warfare, and terrorist attacks. However, the Iranian people have demonstrated that the era of trying to impose one's will on independent nations through force is over. Ghalibaf said, "This war has caused severe damage to our people, but it also shows that even under the most difficult circumstances, the resilience and will of the people can shatter all the schemes of the aggressors."
