Iran rebuts Vance's claim about IAEA access to Iran

2026-06-22 18:00

Odaily Planet Daily reported, according to CNN, that Iran stated on Monday it will continue to cooperate with the UN nuclear watchdog "in accordance with existing procedures." This comes after Iran refuted claims made by a senior US official that Tehran had agreed to allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to return to the country.

According to reports from the Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baqaei stated that Iran's interaction with the IAEA would proceed "in line with Iran's obligations under its safeguards agreement" and "in compliance with the resolution passed by parliament and the decision of the Supreme National Security Council." This follows a statement by US Vice President Vance at a press conference in Switzerland, where he said Iran had agreed to grant IAEA inspectors entry into the country. (Jin Shi)
