Odaily Odaily Planet Daily News: The Jiangsu Nanjing police and the Guangxi Chongzuo Border Management Detachment cooperated across provinces to successfully solve a major gold theft case valued at 27 million yuan. The main perpetrators, Wang and Tong, who were heavily in debt from gambling, conspired with another accomplice to plan and carry out the theft targeting a luxury goods store in Nanjing's Jiangning District, stealing a total of 37 gold items weighing 27 kilograms.

After the crime, the main culprit Tong fled south by ride-hailing car carrying part of the gold, attempting to cross the border illegally via a small path. He was precisely intercepted and arrested by police from the Chongzuo Ai Dian Border Police Station just 100 meters from the China-Vietnam border, with 8.75 kilograms of gold seized on the spot. Subsequently, another accomplice, Wang, who had fled to Thailand, was arrested in Bangkok and extradited back to China. Currently, all 11 suspects in the case have been apprehended, and the 27 kilograms of stolen gold have been fully recovered. (China News Weekly)
