Polymarket Accused of Marketing to US Users Through Simulated Trades and Fake Profit Videos
Odaily Planet Daily News: Prediction market platform Polymarket has been accused of promoting its products on social media by paying creators to produce simulated trading and fake profit videos.
Reports indicate that the creators involved used simulation sites highly similar to the real Polymarket website to produce trading videos. Some of the content showcased high returns that did not actually occur, and certain videos were required to be submitted to Polymarket for review. Polymarket managed its influencer outreach campaign through the marketing company Virality. Despite the platform restricting its services for US users, these marketing activities were still directed at American audiences.
Additionally, according to *The Wall Street Journal*, Polymarket has entered into sponsorship deals worth millions of dollars with influencer Adin Ross to encourage user participation in platform activities. Polymarket has not yet publicly responded to these reports. (*The Wall Street Journal*)
