U.S. Retired General: Trump’s Public Statements May Reveal Negotiation Stance, Handing Leverage to Iran
Odaily Planet Daily News: Retired U.S. General Mark Kimmitt stated that he believes President Donald Trump’s public statements may have inadvertently shifted leverage to Tehran. Kimmitt noted that Trump has shown impatience in negotiations, making announcements "every two or three days, saying we’ll reach a deal within two or three days." Kimmitt explained that these statements by President Trump "show the Iranians that he lacks that patience, and the Iranians are now exploiting that." He added that Tehran is "provoking him, perhaps not on the battlefield, but undoubtedly at the diplomatic negotiating table." Commenting on Trump’s response approach, Kimmitt said, "He is not responding at the diplomatic negotiating table but through military force." (Jin Shi)
