Anthropic Launches Fable 5 Model, Blocks Cybersecurity-Related Capabilities
OdailyOdaily Odaily Planet Daily News Anthropic has released the Mythos version of Fable 5, which lacks the ability to perform cybersecurity tasks. The model includes safety guardrails designed to prevent it from responding to specific queries, including those related to cybersecurity and biology. In these cases, its Claude chatbot will route responses through a different model called Opus 4.8.
Anthropic also released a new version of Mythos, called Mythos 5, which does not include some of the safety measures. This version will be provided to a selected group through a project called Project Glasswing.
Fable 5 aims to improve capabilities in coding and other specialized tasks. In testing, payment processing company Stripe completed a long-form software engineering task in one day that would have taken a team two months to execute manually. Additionally, Anthropic stated that it ran an external bug bounty program and, after more than 1,000 hours of testing, found no universal jailbreak vulnerabilities. (Bloomberg)
