Semiconductor stocks in Asia-Pacific markets collectively plummeted: Samsung Electronics fell over 6%, SK Hynix dropped nearly 10%

According to data from MSX.COM, most major Asia-Pacific stock indices declined today. A-shares and Hong Kong stocks fluctuated throughout the day, the Nikkei 225 index fell nearly 900 points intraday, and the Korea Composite Stock Price Index dropped over 5.5%.

Specifically, by the close, the ChiNext Index fell over 3%, the Science and Technology Innovation Composite Index and the Shenzhen Component Index dropped over 2%, and the Shanghai Composite Index declined about 0.7%. The combined trading volume of the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets reached 3.07 trillion yuan, an increase of 311.5 billion yuan from the previous trading day. Over 3,200 stocks in the entire market rose. The robotics concept surged against the trend, with Zhongda Lide hitting the daily limit twice in four days, while Leader Harmonious Drive Systems, Keli Motor, and Guangyang Shares also hit their daily limits. Storage chips, CPO, and other segments of the semiconductor industry chain led the declines, with Vitalchem falling nearly 13%, Biwin Storage and Longsys dropping over 8%, and the trillion-yuan giant Zhongji Innolight declining nearly 8%.

In the Hong Kong stock market, semiconductors experienced a collective heavy sell-off, causing the Hang Seng Tech Index's afternoon decline to once widen to 2%. As of press time, Uboholdings fell nearly 15%, Montage Technology and GigaDevice dropped over 9%, Hua Hong Semiconductor declined over 7%, and SMIC fell over 6%. The AI application sector continued to slump, with MINIMAX-W dropping over 15%, Zundec falling over 10%, and Zhipu declining over 9%.

In the Japanese and South Korean stock markets, semiconductor stocks broadly fell, with SK Hynix dropping nearly 10%, and Samsung Electronics and Tokyo Electron both falling over 6%, while Advantest declined nearly 5%.
