Odaily Planet Daily News: British teenager Alexander Browder stated that he has been added to Russia’s sanctions list and banned from entering the country by the Russian Foreign Ministry after writing a report exposing a cryptocurrency money laundering network linked to Russia.

The report indicates that the amount of money laundered by countries including Russia, Iran, and North Korea totals approximately $350 billion, with the ruble-pegged stablecoin known as A7A5 being one of the primary challenges facing Western anti-money laundering efforts. The UK Foreign Office stated that Russia uses tokens such as A7A5 to evade Western sanctions and fund its military. The British government imposed sanctions on individuals linked to the network in May, which transferred over $90 billion last year. Alexander Browder commented that he is proud to be the first high school student in the world sanctioned by an authoritarian regime for exposing corruption. (euronews)
