美联储监察部门突查地区联储人事续聘流程
Odaily Odaily Planet Daily reported that the Federal Reserve's internal watchdog announced on Wednesday it will conduct a comprehensive review of the reappointment process for senior officials at regional Fed banks, focusing on the full procedure by which the Federal Reserve Board approves the renewal of five-year terms for regional bank presidents and their deputies.
This evaluation will not only examine procedural compliance against the Fed's administrative regulations and industry standards, but also review executive performance appraisal materials and assess whether all files used to determine reappointment eligibility are complete and standardized. The Office of the Inspector General did not explain the specific reason for launching this review.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump frequently pressured the Federal Reserve, leading to increased market attention on personnel arrangements at regional Fed banks. Many observers worry that this reappointment mechanism could be exploited to sideline regional decision-makers who do not support interest rate cuts. (Jinshi Data)
