预测市场借Meme文化吸引Z世代,69%用户亏损引监管担忧
Odaily Planet Daily reports that prediction market platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket are attracting young users through meme culture, humorous memes, and gamified designs. By leveraging features like leaderboards, badges, and comment interactions to enhance user engagement, these platforms also set low entry barriers, with a minimum participation age of 18—lower than the legal gambling age of 21 in most U.S. states. Currently, only a small number of top traders on Polymarket are profitable, while approximately 69% of users suffer losses. Experts warn that young users, whose cognitive development is still ongoing, may be prone to forming high-risk investment dependencies. It is reported that U.S. Senators Katie Britt and Richard Blumenthal have proposed a bill to restrict minors' exposure to prediction market advertisements. (Fortune)
