According to Gate data, U.S. and Brent crude oil both fell sharply in the short term, with WTI crude now down over 5% to $91.4 per barrel, and Brent crude down about 4% to $92.6 per barrel.
The U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) dropped below 99, down 0.15% on the day. The New Zealand Dollar against the U.S. Dollar (NZD/USD) broke above 0.59, up 1.09% on the day.
Spot gold surged $30 in the short term to $4,457 per ounce.
