Iranian Official: Any Final Agreement with the U.S. Must Align with Iran’s National Interests

According to a report by Iran's Tasnim News Agency on the 27th, Boroujerdi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, stated that any final agreement signed with the United States must align with Iran's national interests. Boroujerdi said that based on the preliminary draft agreement between Iran and the U.S., the first step for the U.S. would be to commit to a comprehensive 60-day ceasefire across all fronts, including Lebanon. The draft agreement also calls for the unfreezing of a significant portion of Iran's frozen assets and the lifting of the maritime blockade. Boroujerdi emphasized that Iran's diplomatic institutions and state system will not make decisions based on posts from U.S. President Donald Trump. For Iran, what matters is the final outcome of the negotiations; any document ultimately signed must be formulated within the framework of Iran's red lines and must serve the interests of the Iranian people and the nation.
