Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: Currently Focused on Finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding with the United States

Odaily Planet Daily News Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that they are currently focused on finalizing a memorandum of understanding with the United States. He described the ongoing mediation process with the US as "time-consuming and labor-intensive" because US hostility can be traced back decades. "We have discussed some points and wording where differences still exist, and have put forward proposals. Some of these are still under review, and all parties are expressing their opinions," Baghaei was quoted as saying by the Islamic Republic News Agency. Baghaei also thanked Pakistan for its mediation efforts.

Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Iran has decided to focus its negotiations on ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon. At this stage, the details of the nuclear issue will not be discussed. Whether talks on the nuclear issue will begin in 30 or 60 days is a matter for later. (Jin Shi)
