特朗普愿意给美伊谈判“更多时间”

Odaily Planet Daily News: U.S. President Donald Trump has convened a meeting of his national security team, making no formal decision on launching a new military strike against Iran. Instead, he indicated a willingness to give diplomatic negotiations "more time." According to a report by The Wall Street Journal citing multiple U.S. officials, after being briefed on the relevant dialogues taking place in Iran, Trump stated he wants to give diplomatic talks "more time," but retains the option of a military strike if negotiations break down.

The report said that mediators are pushing forward with diplomatic consultations. The current urgent goal is not to reach a formal agreement between the U.S. and Iran, but first to determine a document similar to a memorandum of understanding to extend the ceasefire and set a framework for further negotiations. The two sides are currently deadlocked over which issues should be included in the negotiation framework and which should be left for subsequent discussion.

According to U.S. officials, if even this limited agreement cannot be reached, the U.S. and Israel could launch a short-duration military strike against Iran within days to pressure Tehran into concessions.
