The People's Bank of China set the yuan central parity rate at 6.8375, the highest since March 24, 2023

Odaily Planet Daily reported that the central parity rate of the yuan against the US dollar was raised by 60 pips to 6.8375 from the previous trading day, marking the highest level since March 24, 2023.

On May 19, 2026, the yuan central parity rates in the interbank foreign exchange market were as follows:

USD/CNY reported at 6.8375, a decrease (yuan appreciation) of 60 pips; EUR/CNY reported at 7.9437, an increase of 142 pips;

HKD/CNY reported at 0.87318, a decrease of 9 pips; GBP/CNY reported at 9.1562, an increase of 671 pips;

AUD/CNY reported at 4.8864, an increase of 143 pips; CAD/CNY reported at 4.9590, a decrease of 18 pips;

100 JPY/CNY reported at 4.2979, a decrease of 51 pips; CNY/RUB reported at 10.6688, a decrease of 320 pips;

NZD/CNY reported at 4.0021, an increase of 196 pips; CNY/MYR reported at 0.58231, an increase of 20.1 pips;
