Circle CEO Mentions Potential ARC Airdrop: 60% of "Ecosystem" Share Includes Airdrop Use Case
Odaily Planet Daily News: Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire responded to questions from various analysts during tonight's earnings call.
When asked about the possibility of a broader distribution of ARC tokens in the future, Jeremy Allaire stated: "We have completed this $222 million funding round's ARC token presale with a $3 billion FDV. We are obligated to eventually distribute tokens to these presale participants. Our core focus at the moment is driving the launch of the Arc mainnet (which is coming soon) and fostering the network's utility and growth. Ultimately, as the network expands, ARC tokens will play a crucial role in utility, governance, staking, and security. What we shared in the ARC token whitepaper is that 60% of the tokens are specifically allocated for ecosystem grants, airdrops, and other incentive programs, which is also what Circle and the broader community hope to see over time. Clearly, there will be more opportunities ahead regarding the deployment of ARC tokens—particularly for that 60% portion."
As previously reported, the ARC token whitepaper indicates that 60% of the tokens will be allocated to the ecosystem (token sales, developer grants, network growth); 25% will be allocated to Circle (protocol development, staking, and governance); and 15% will be allocated to a long-term reserve (strategic flexibility and economic stability).
