Odaily reported that when U.S. National Economic Council Director Hassett was asked during an interview how long Powell would remain as a Fed Governor after Kevin Warsh takes over as Fed Chair,
Hassett said he believes that after the Fed's Inspector General completes its investigation into the Federal Reserve building renovation project, Powell might feel he could choose to step down. Hassett stated: "I guess the opportunity to leave gracefully could be when the Inspector General's report is released, and he is satisfied with the findings." (Jin Shi)
