Jensen Huang: 60-year computing paradigm has ended; those who better leverage AI will gain the advantage

2026-05-11 06:31

OdailyOdaily reports that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated during his speech at Carnegie Mellon University's 128th commencement ceremony that the traditional computing paradigm, which has lasted for about 60 years, has come to an end. AI is driving an industry transformation from "humans writing software" to "machines learning to generate capabilities."

He noted that while some tasks such as programming and medical image analysis are being automated, AI largely amplifies human abilities rather than simply replacing them. He remarked, "AI will most likely not take your job, but someone who knows how to use AI better than you might."

Huang also recalled Nvidia's near-bankruptcy experience in its early years, stating that the company once asked Sega to terminate a contract due to an inability to deliver on its chip architecture, and relied on the continued payment from the other party to survive. He concluded by saying that the construction of AI infrastructure will become one of the largest-scale technological infrastructure investments in human history, and urged graduates to "run, don't walk."
