Sources: Iranian officials expected to formally respond to U.S. evaluation of the 14-point proposal today
Odaily Planet Daily News: According to sources from Pakistan, Iran is reviewing the U.S. response to the 14-point proposal. The 14-point proposal aims to officially end hostilities and open a 30-day negotiation window for detailed discussions on Iran's nuclear program, the lifting of sanctions, and safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Pakistani diplomatic sources say Iranian officials are expected to formally respond on May 8, and the U.S. side is awaiting Iran's stance on key issues.
Iran recently submitted a new 14-point proposal to the U.S. through the mediating country Pakistan, with main contents including ensuring no further military aggression, U.S. payment of compensation, and establishing a new management mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said on May 2 that he would soon evaluate Iran's new proposal but "can't imagine" it would be "acceptable." (CCTV News)
