Iranian official calls US 14-point proposal "unrealistic," emphasizes negotiations must include "tangible benefits"
Odaily Planet Daily News Mohsen Rezaei, a long-time advisor to Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated that Iran will not allow the US to reopen the Strait of Hormuz based on "an unrealistic plan" and then withdraw from the conflict "without paying any compensation for all the damage inflicted on Iran." This statement is a response to the 14-point proposal submitted by Washington to Iran through negotiators.
Rezaei emphasized that for negotiations between Iran and the US to achieve satisfactory results, they must include "tangible benefits," not the "empty gestures" that the US is trying to offer. He stated that even if the US withdraws its forces from the region, Iran will still demand its rights and war reparations. Rezaei also added: "We have endured them for 47 years, and we will continue on the path of resistance." (Jin Shi)
