分析师:英伟达垄断AI芯片市场两年后,AMD凭借CPU迎头赶上
Odaily Odaily reported that AMD's stock price surged to a record high on Wednesday, driven by its strong outlook boosting investor confidence in the sustained demand for AI infrastructure, which in turn led to a broad uptick in global semiconductor stocks. Analysts and investors view AMD as a leading contender challenging Nvidia's dominance in the AI chip market, and the company is also benefiting from its focus on the CPU business. CPUs have taken on a significant role as enterprises shift toward agentic AI—systems capable of performing autonomous functions—broadening demand beyond the GPUs used to train large models. "Nvidia had a monopoly on the AI chip market for two years, but today, other companies are gradually catching up. At the same time, the expanding market leaves room for future growth," said Michael O'Rourke, chief market strategist at Jones Trading.
"AMD's story is no longer just about competing with Nvidia on GPUs... it's increasingly shifting toward a broader computing opportunity, as both CPUs and GPUs will play their respective roles with the growing demand for AI workloads," said Matt Britzman, senior equity analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown.
