Cuban Foreign Minister Refutes US Secretary of State's Claim That "Cuba Is Not Under Oil Blockade"
According to Odaily, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stated on the 5th that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio was "lying" when he said that "Cuba is not under an oil blockade." Earlier that day, Rubio claimed at a press conference at the White House that Cuba had not faced an oil blockade, as posted on the U.S. Department of State website. In response, Rodríguez said on social media that reality cannot be concealed: on January 29, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order threatening to impose ad valorem tariffs on goods imported from countries providing oil to Cuba. Over the past period, only one fuel-carrying vessel has arrived in Cuba. All of Cuba's suppliers have been intimidated and threatened, violating free trade rules and the principle of freedom of navigation. A new executive order issued on May 1 expanded the scope of sanctions against Cuba. (Dongxinshe)
