Aave files emergency motion to quash asset freeze notice against ArbitrumDAO

Odaily Odaily has learned that Aave LLC has filed an emergency motion to quash the asset freeze notice issued against the ArbitrumDAO on May 1, 2026. The notice involves approximately $71 million worth of ETH, which belongs to users affected by the attack event on April 18. Aave stated that stolen assets do not confer legal ownership through theft, and the relevant funds are intended for return to affected users; the freeze instead impedes the compensation process.

Aave has requested the court to hold an emergency hearing and temporarily lift the freeze measure, while stating it will continue to collaborate with the Arbitrum community and DeFiUnited to advance user compensation matters.
