The Web3 Foundation is celebrating its 10th round of grants, issued through the Open Grant and General Grant. With 27 new grant agreements signed in Q2 2021, we now have close to 300 grantees since the foundation's Grant Program began in 2019. We are humbled and grateful for the strong interest in technology and the excellent work of all the teams involved.
While the number of Grant applications ebbs and flows, the quality of applications continues to improve. In order to attract the best teams, we are always working hard to improve the application experience and the quality and speed of feedback. In the last quarter, we did these things:
More technical assessors hired
Updated our README file and application template to clarify the application process
Simplified payment process
Added USDT as payment option
There are many more efforts not listed. If you have any suggestions for what might be missing from our Grant program, please reach out to us via Github, email, or Element!

It's exciting to see talented teams contributing to the Polkadot, Kusama, and Substrate stacks, whether volunteering, self-funded, through one of our Grant programs, or through other public funding sources. We are always looking for new projects to support and continue to expand the Web 3.0 ecosystem. If you are interested, we invite you to apply (see below for the application process), or, if you have any questions you would like to know in advance, please contact us by email.
